Will Trent returns for another season. ABC has renewed the drama series, starring Ramón Rodríguez, for a third season.

The drama recently achieved its most-watched episode ever on March 5, with 9.02 million viewers in seven-day statistics. Since the first season, the series has reached nearly 70 million viewers across all platforms.

Will Trent was prematurely renewed for season two last year after the promising results of the first season. The series led ABC as the No. 1 new drama in total viewers (9.9 million) and adults 18-49 (1.65 ratings) after 35 days of viewing across linear and digital platforms.

Based on the New York Times bestseller Will Trent by Karin Slaughter, the series follows the Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent who was abandoned at birth and endured a difficult childhood in Atlanta's overcrowded foster care system. Now Will uses his unique perspective to pursue justice and has the highest clearance rate in the GBI.

Will Trent also stars Erika Christensen as Angie Polaski, Iantha Richardson as Faith Mitchell, Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood and Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner.

Liz Heldens, Dan Thomsen, Slaughter, Oly Obst and Howie Deutch are the executive producers. Rodriguez is co-executive producer for season two. The pilot episode was written by Heldens and Thomsen, and directed and produced by Paul McGuigan. The series is produced by 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios.

Will Trent airs on ABC on Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
