A new dark comedy series with Tom Segura producing and starring is in development at Netflix.

In recent years, comedian Tom Segura has teased both on his podcasts and in the press a pilot that he financed, produced and sold himself. And now he has revealed Netflix as the destination for the project, a six-episode dark comedy series that he will star in and produce.

This is Segura's (photo) latest deal with the channel, which previously released all five of his comedy specials. In the as-yet untitled series, for which he also serves as narrator, he takes the viewer through a series of vignettes in each episode. The twisted comedic sensibility of his stand-up is at the heart of this series, with each story unfolding in hilariously disturbing ways that only he could imagine.

Segura wrote and produced the pilot entirely and Rami Hachache is the director. Jeremy Konner, whose credits include Drunk History, Another Period and Waffles + Mochi, is head writer, with Segura and Ryan Hall producing through YMH Studios. Production will begin later this year and the series will premiere in 2025.

Segura is currently on his Come Together world tour and recently entered talks to play the lead roles of Bob Zmuda and Tony Clifton, the longtime collaborator and comedic personality of avant-garde comedian Andy Kaufman, in Dirty Rotten Bastard, a new film will be directed by Ryan McNeely and Josh Martin, also known as The Director Brothers.

His most recent special, Sledgehammer, debuted at No. 1 on Netflix last summer. The comedian was previously also seen in series such as Workaholics and Happy Endings.

Segura is also known for popular podcasts such as Your Mom's House and 2 Bears 1 Cave, which he releases with his wife Christina Pazsitzky through Your Mom's House Studios.
