HBO shows off some beautiful dragon footage in the trailer for season two of House of the Dragon.

The drama based on George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood prepares for an epic war between the Targaryens and the Hightowers after the first season finale.

In it, the former (R.I.P Prince Lucerys Velaryon) was tragically affected by the latter (Prince Aemond Targaryen). The series was able to continue filming last summer during the strikes largely because the mostly British cast has an Equity contract instead of a SAG-AFTRA contract.

The season two cast includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans. Other returning cast members include Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham.

New cast members include Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.

Martin is co-creator/executive producer. Ryan Condal is co-creator/showrunner/executive producer. Other executive producers include Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere and Vince Gerardis.

House of the Dragon season two can be seen on HBO from Sunday, June 16.
