Hamish Linklater has been cast as a regular in Prime Video's Gen V for its second season.

Set in the devilish world of The Boys, Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero university where students are trained to become the next generation of heroes - preferably with lucrative sponsorship deals. You know what happens when superheroes turn bad, but not all superheroes start out corrupt.

Besides the typical college chaos of finding yourself and partying, these kids are faced with explosive situations...literally. As the students compete for popularity and good grades, it's clear that the stakes are much higher when superpowers are involved.

Linklater (pictured) will play Cipher, the newly appointed dean of Godolkin University who is described as charismatic and charming. He is trained as a scientist, is politically brilliant and has the trust and admiration of officials at the highest levels.

The Gen V cast also includes Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn.

Chance Perdomo, who starred as Andre Anderson in the first season, was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Upstate New York while en route to Toronto in late March to begin production on season two. Production was postponed after the accident to mourn the loss of their colleague and figure out how the story would continue. Filming is currently taking place in Toronto.

Gen V is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Gray Pictures and Original Film.

Linklater was most recently seen in Apple TV+'s limited historical drama series Manhunt (2024) with Tobias Menzies. Previously, he starred in Peacock's limited series Angelyne with Emmy Rossum, Mike Flanagan's supernatural miniseries Midnight Mass for Netflix and Noah Hawley's Legion for FX.
