Patrick Brammall, co-creator and protagonist of the Australian comedy series Colin from Accounts, exchanges his laughing muscles for an exciting thriller.

Brammall will star in a series adaptation of Ryan David Jahn's book The Dispatcher for Apple TV+. The six-part series comes from Kris Mrksa.

Brammall (pictured) plays police detective Ian Hunt, whose life fell apart ten years ago when his young daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace. He now works as a police dispatcher and the only thing keeping him going is his adamant refusal to accept that she may be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a young girl he is sure is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, no matter what the cost.

The series is produced by Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta at 60Forty Films, with executive producers Kris Mrksa and Joanna Werner at Werner Film Productions.

Published in 2011, the book is set in East Texas and features a bullet-riddled chase from Texas to California along Interstate 10—a wild ride in a 1965 Mustang through the outlaw territory of No Country for Old Men go.

In addition to Colin from Accounts, which airs in the US on Paramount+ and has been renewed for a third season, Brammall stars in Paramount+'s Evil. He also starred in the Australian series No Activity, which was later adapted for CBS and he starred in Netflix's Glitch.
