Briana Middleton has been cast in Neuromancer, Apple TV+'s new sci-fi drama based on William Gibson's award-winning novel.

Created for television by Graham Roland and JD Dillard, Neuromancer follows a damaged, top-tier super-hacker named Case (Callum Turner) who gets caught up in a web of high-stakes digital espionage and crime with his partner Molly (Middleton, pictured below), with the aim of ambushing a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.

Neuromancer is co-produced by Skydance Television, Anonymous Content and Apple Studios and is also produced by Drake's DreamCrew Entertainment. Roland is the showrunner and Dillard directs the first episode.

Roland and Dillard produce alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television; Anonymous Content; Drake, Adel “Future” Nur and Jason Shrier for DreamCrew Entertainment; Zack Hayden and Gibson.

Neuromancer is Middleton's latest collaboration with Apple TV+ following her starring role in Apple Original Films' Sharper and her casting as the lead in Sam Esmail's high-profile series Metropolis, which ultimately fell through.

Neuromancer, William Gibson's debut novel, is a standout in the cyberpunk genre and was awarded the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award and the Hugo Award. It was the first book in the Sprawl trilogy and was followed by Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive.

Middleton, whose credits include George Clooney's The Tender Bar, has been cast as the female lead in Disney+'s proposed Beauty and the Beast prequel series.
