The Hargreeves siblings' journey comes to an end in the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy.

Netflix has released the final trailer for the time travel drama, which also features a glimpse of Nick Offerman's character as Dr. Gene Thibedeau.

“The world we live in is one big phony baloney lie,” Offerman’s Thibedeau is heard in a voiceover. “That tentacle boy is the key to understanding all the timelines.” Tentacle boy is an apparent reference to Justin H. Min’s Ben Hargreeves, who died during a mission but whose storyline appears to be a focus in Season 4.

The final season of The Umbrella Academy, created by Steve Blackman and based on the Dark Horse comic book series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, debuts on Netflix on Thursday, August 8.

In the upcoming final season, the Hargreeves siblings are scattered after the climax at Hotel Oblivion led to a complete reset of their timeline. Stripped of their powers, they all have to fend for themselves and start a new life - with varying degrees of success. Yet the trappings of their eerie new world prove too difficult to ignore for long. Their father Reginald, alive and well, has stepped out of the shadows and into the public eye, overseeing a powerful and nefarious business empire.

A mysterious association known as The Keepers holds clandestine meetings, believing that the reality they live in is a lie and that a great reckoning is coming. As these strange new forces conspire around them, the Umbrella Academy must come together for the final time - and risk upsetting the shaky peace for which they have endured so much - to finally set their affairs in order.

The season four cast includes Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, Colm Feore, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and David Cross.

The Umbrella Academy is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, for Netflix. Blackman is executive producer and showrunner.

Jennifer Cecil, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Scott Stuber, Beau Bauman, Pascal Verschooris, Jesse McKeown, Abbey Morris and Jeremy Webb also produce. Way and Bá are co-executive producers.
