Garret Dillahunt will have a recurring role on the new ABC drama High Potential.

Created by Drew Goddard from the French format HPI, the series stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mother with three children and an exceptional mind who helps solve an unsolvable crime when she rearranges evidence while on duty as a cleaner for the police.

When they discover that her high intellectual abilities give her a talent for putting things in order, she is appointed as an advisor to work with a seasoned detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), who works by the book, and together they form they are an unusual and unstoppable team.

High Potential will premiere this fall.

Dillahunt (pictured) will play Lieutenant Melon, a bit of a jerk who is in charge of the LAPD precinct's robbery division but would much rather be running the big cases. He feels he has been unfairly passed over in Selena's favor and takes every opportunity to remind her of that.

High Potential also stars Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb and Judy Reyes.

ABC Signature produces High Potential. Todd Harthan produces with Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles; Dan Etheridge and Rob Thomas are the executive producers. Kaitlin Olson works as a producer.

Dillahunt played the role of John Dorie on AMC's Fear The Walking Dead, Engleburt 'Burt' Jebbidiah Chance on the Fox comedy series Raising Hope and Dr. Jody Kimball-Kinney on Fox's The Mindy Project. Dillahunt's other television roles include Fox's The Gifted, Prime Video's Hand of God, FX's Justified and Starz's Hightown.
