The cast of Showtime's Dexter: Original Sin is adding nine recurring characters to the first season.



The recurring roles are played by Emmy winner Joe Pantoliano, Brittany Allen, Randy Gonzalez, Aaron Jennings, Raquel Justice, Jasper Lewis, Carlo Mendez, Isaac Gonzalez Rossi and Roberto Sanchez.

Set in 1991 Miami, the ten-part drama series follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson), a college student who refines his skills as an assassin with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry (Christian Slater). In his father he finds comfort and understanding, especially when his bloodthirsty urges grow and can no longer be ignored. As his only confidante, Harry teaches Dexter a code that will help him find and kill people who deserve to die. This presents a special challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensic internship with the Miami Metro Police Department.



Pantoliano (pictured) plays Mad Dog, Allen plays Laura Moser, Dexter's biological mother, Gonzalez plays Santos Jimenez, Jennings plays Clark Sanders, Justice plays Sofia, Lewis plays Doris Morgan, Dexter's adoptive mother and Harry's wife, Mendez plays Hector Estrada, Gonzalez Rossi plays Gio and Sanchez plays Tony Ferrer.

The previously announced cast also includes Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Reno Wilson, Alex Shimizu, Patrick Dempsey and Sarah Michelle Geller. Production is currently taking place in Miami with Clyde Phillips at the helm.

Dexter: Original Sin is produced by Phillips; and Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Scott Reynolds also serves as executive producer alongside Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns. Robert Lloyd Lewis produces. Michael Lehmann serves as executive director.

Throughout his decades in the industry, Pantoliano has had many roles in television and film. He received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Ralph Cifaretto on The Sopranos. He is also known as Cypher in the first Matrix film. Other film roles include La Bamba, Empire of the Sun, The Goonies, Memento and Bad Boys.

Allen recently starred in Prime Video's The Boys as Popclaw and the horror film What Keeps You Alive.

Gonzalez is best known for his role in the Netflix series Bloodline and the action film Peppermint, starring Jennifer Garner. Gonzalez recently appeared in Mayans MC (2018), The Resident and The Walking Dead: Dead City, among others.

Jennings recently starred in NBC's comedy series Grand Crew, which ran for two seasons. He also appeared in Prime Video's series A League Of Their Own. Other roles include Syfy's The Magicians and HBO's Insecure.

Justice is known for her work in the Netflix television series One Day at a Time (2017). She also has roles in NBC's Quantum Leap (2022) and the feature film Finding Tony.

Lewis is an actress, comedian and writer with years of sketch and improvisation experience at Pack Theater and UCB. She played in V/H/S and As It's Remembered, among others.

Mendez is a Cuban-American actor with notable television roles in 9-1-1 and Parks and Recreation.

Gonzalez Rossi recently starred in the film That's Amor and can be seen in HBO's Westworld in 2022.

Sanchez recently appeared on Apple TV+'s Palm Royale series and can currently be seen on Starz's BMF. He can be seen next year in the new Netflix comedy series Running Point, with Kate Hudson.
