Normally MySeries doesn't pay attention to films, but sometimes you can't ignore it and that certainly applies to Star Trek: Section 31, the first television film in the Star Trek universe.

She is a tyrant who "murdered her own people by the millions". And when someone calls her a "bad bitch", she smiles and enjoys the attention.

That's Emperor Philippa Georgiou, played by Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh, in the trailer for Star Trek: Section 31, due out in early 2025.

In the film, Yeoh reprises her role as Philippa Georgiou (pictured center), a character she first played in the first season of Star Trek: Discovery. She is now tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets while facing the sins of her past.

Star Trek: Section 31 was written by Craig Sweeny and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi. It is produced by Alex Kurtzman, Craig Sweeny, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth and Yeoh and is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.

It was also revealed at Comic-Con that Miku Martineau will play young Philippa in the film. The rest of the cast includes Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rahl, Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, Robert Kazinsky, Humberly Gonzalez and James Hiroyuki Liao.

Star Trek: Section 31 is presented by Paramount+ as a special cinematic event and will stream exclusively on the streamer in the US and in all international markets where the service is available. The film is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
