Executive producer Eli Jorné revealed the new characters during the AMC series' panel at San Diego Comic-Con. This includes Keir Gilchrist, who will play Benjamin Pierce, Dascha Polanco (photo below) in the role of Major Lucia Narvaez, Jake Weary as Christos and Pooya Mohseni as Roksana.
The Walking Dead: Dead City follows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they travel to a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and residents who have turned New York City into their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror.
In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan are stuck on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.
During the Comic-Con panel, Morgan promised the return of his character and his beloved Lucille's signature leather jacket. He also touched on his relationship with that damn baseball bat and treated Comic-Con attendees to his epic whistling that Negan is known for.
Gilchrist is known for his role as Samual 'Sam' Gardner in the Netflix comedy series Atypical and was most recently seen in HBO Max's Love and Death.
Polanco played the role of inmate Dayanara 'Daya' Diaz for seven seasons in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. She has also appeared in FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Netflix's Russian Doll and most recently Peacock's Poker Face. She was reunited with OITNB colleague Natasha Lyonne for both Russian Doll and Poker Face.
Weary played the regular role of Deran Cody in TNT crime drama series Animal Kingdom (2016). He also had recurring roles on Freeform's Pretty Little Liars and NBC's Chicago Fire, among others.
Mohseni has had (recurring) guest roles on USA Network's Falling Water, CBS's Madam Secretary and NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
