Published in 2015 by William Morrow, Seveneves won the Prometheus Award for Best Novel and was chosen by President Obama for his summer reading list.
Stephenson, the bestselling author of Anathem, Reamde, and Cryptonomicon, is also a respected technologist and futurist. He was the first employee of Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin and spent seven years as Chief Futurist at Google-backed Magic Leap. Stephenson coined the term “metaverse,” popularized the term “avatar” in a computing context, and outlined the basis for cryptocurrency.
Friedman championed The Martian while at Genre Films and was an executive producer on feature films including Crazy Rich Asians and series including FX’s American Crime Story while at production company Color Force.
