Many of us have a guilty pleasure: looking at houses on Funda. Even if you are not looking for a new house, it is fun to take a peek into a neighbor's house.

There are also several real estate series in the world of TV series, and Netflix is full of them.

The best known is Selling Sunset, a popular reality show that premiered in March 2019 and has now had seven seasons. The show offers a glimpse into the luxury housing market of Los Angeles, California, through the eyes of the Oppenheim Group, a luxury real estate agency run by twin brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim. The series is known for its mix of high-stakes real estate deals and interpersonal drama. The personal lives, relationships, and conflicts of the real estate agents often take center stage, which adds to the show's appeal. Personally, I find the constant bickering between the ladies a bit tiring after a while.

Selling The OC has been broadcast from 2022. In the idyllic surroundings of Orange County, Jason and Brett open a second branch. The show focuses on the sale of high-end homes on the coast and in the hills of this beautiful region. In addition to Jason and Brett, we see a different group of real estate agents than in Los Angeles, but the setup remains the same: there are internal quarrels here too. This series has now had three seasons.

There is also a third Selling series, Selling Tampa. This series follows Allure Realty, a real estate agency in Florida that is owned and operated entirely by African-American women. There has only been one season so far, and compared to the series above, this one has slightly less conflict.

My favorite real estate series is the French L'Agence - L'immobilier de luxe en famille, also called The Parisian Agency. This French series is a pleasure to watch. It is about the Kretz family, in which all family members are involved in the real estate business. Compared to the Selling series, the focus is more on the houses and the buyers. Where you hardly see any buyers in Selling, in this series you often follow a buyer who is going to choose between two or three beautiful French houses. They do not only sell in Paris, but also in the rest of France and sometimes even abroad. The main characters are mainly the sons of the Kretz family. In the four seasons you see how The Agency develops. Personally, I think the houses are more beautiful than the American ones. The charm of French culture and the warmth of a close-knit family make this a great series to watch.

If you want to see more, you can continue with Buying London and Buying Beverly Hills. In terms of feeling, these series are closer to the Selling series.

Whether you like the drama between the real estate agents or just admire beautiful homes, there is something for everyone in the world of luxury real estate series. Enjoy!
