There's a new face joining Chicago PD. Shawn Hatosy has been added to the cast of season twelve.

Hatosy (photo) can be seen from the start of the new season on Wednesday, September 25 in the recurring role of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid and brings a "new dynamic to the team", says showrunner Gwen Sigan.

“I think he sees a lot of himself in Voight [Sgt. Hank Voight, played by Jason Beghe} and identifies quite a bit with Voight and Voight’s philosophy as a police officer, and they have a really interesting relationship that will evolve as the season goes on,” added Sigan.

Chicago PD centers on the men and women of the Chicago Police Department's Intelligence team, who fight the city's most heinous crimes - organized crime, drug trafficking, murders and more.

Dick Wolf produces with Sigan, Chad Saxton, Rick Eid, Derek Haas, Gavin Harris, Jason Beghe, Arthur Forney, Peter Jankowski and Michael Brandt. Chicago PD is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment.

Hatosy is perhaps best known for his role as Detective Sammy Bryant on Southland. He also played Andrew 'Pope' Cody in Animal Kingdom (2016). He will soon be seen in recurring roles on Fox's Rescue: HI-Surf and HBO Max's medical drama The Pitt.
