Netflix's upcoming supernatural mystery series The Boroughs has added six very well-known actors to its cast.

The series was created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews. Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodard, Geena Davis, Denis O'Hare, Clarke Peters and Bill Pullman (pictured from left to right and clockwise) are the actors cast in the project from Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers .

Molina plays Sam; Woodard plays Judy; Davis plays Renee; O'Hare plays Wally; Peters plays Art; and Pullman plays Jack.

Netflix also announced today that Ben Taylor (Sex Education) has come on board to produce and direct multiple episodes of the eight-part drama, including the pilot.

The Boroughs was created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, who also serve as showrunners. It's set in a seemingly picturesque retirement community where a group of unlikely heroes must work together to stop an alien threat that's stealing the one thing they don't have... time.

Some have equated the series to Stranger Things with an older cast, or Stranger Things set in a retirement home - which is true, given that series' creation by the Duffers - although other sources close to the production have said that this comparison is not entirely Correct.

In a statement issued when the project received a series order last April, the Duffer Brothers shared: “Although the heroes in The Boroughs are a few years older than the kids from Stranger Things, they are an equally lovable group of misfits, and we can't wait to join you on an adventure that is alternately scary, funny and deeply moving."

Executive producers of The Boroughs are The Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt on behalf of Upside Down Pictures, Jeffrey Addiss, Will Matthews and Taylor. For the team at Upside Down, the project is the latest effort under an umbrella deal with Netflix, which has also seen them work on the anticipated fifth and final season of Stranger Things, the Olivier Award-winning play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which expands the franchise, and the psychological horror series Something Very Bad is Going to Happen.

Molina starred in the Prime Video mystery series Three Pines. He has also appeared in FX's Feud: Bette and Joan, HBO's Show Me A Hero and Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here, among others.

Woodard will soon be seen in The Last Frontier for Apple TV+. She appeared for two seasons in the science fiction series See with Jason Momoa. She also had roles in Marvel's Luke Cage and TNT's Memphis Beat, among others.

Davis played the recurring role of Sandy Devereaux St. Clair on Netflix's comedy-drama series GLOW and has starred in the Fox horror series The Exorcist and ABC's Grey's Anatomy.

O'Hare is known for his roles in several seasons of Ryan Murphy's anthology series American Horror Story. He also starred in HBO's The Nevers and Big Little Lies, among others.

Peters will star in the upcoming BBC series Towards Zero starring Matthew Rhys and Anjelica Huston. He was recently seen in the Netflix miniseries Eric, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, and has also starred in Showtime's The Man Who Fell to Earth, Apple TV+'s Foundation (2021), and Netflix's The Irregulars.

Pullman starred as Detective Harry Ambrose in the Netflix series The Sinner and appeared in the biographical drama series Halston with Ewan McGregor.
