Trevor Donovan has been added to the cast of When Hope Calls, the spin-off of Janette Oke's book series When Calls the Heart.



When Hope Calls follows a pair of sisters, Lillian Walsh (Morgan Kohan) and Grace Bennett (Jocelyn Hudon) to the town of Brookfield circa 1916. It revolves around the town's orphanage and its residents who face enormous challenges as they pursue a hopeful life. , creating faith-filled community on the cusp of change in the border town while caring for the children in their care.



Donovan (pictured) plays Officer Jim Reynolds, a veteran Mountie known for his strong presence and skills in the field. His two-episode role begins in the third episode of season two, which will air early next year on Great American Family and then on Pure Flix.

Donovan's role may be extended in When Hope Calls, or in other projects inspired by Oke's When Calls the Heart book series.

When Hope Calls season two also stars Cindy Busby as Nora; Christopher Russell as Mountie Michael; Nick Bateman as Wyatt; Wendy Crewson as Tess Stewart; Hanneke Talbot as Maggie Parsons and RJ Hatanaka as Mountie Gabriel.

When Hope Calls started with ten episodes in season one, followed by two one-hour Christmas episodes in 2021 with Lori Loughlin reprising her role as Abigail Stanton. There are eight episodes in season two.

Donovan is known for his role as Teddy Montgomery on The CW's 90210 and had guest roles on CBS's NCIS and Netflix/Fox's Lucifer, among others.
