The actress is set to star in Count My Lies, a drama series in development at Hulu. The project hails from 20th Television and former This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, and is based on a novel by Sophie Stava. Lohan will also serve as an executive producer.
Count My Lies centers on compulsive liar Sloane Caraway, who bluffs her way into a job as a nanny for a beautiful and charismatic couple, Violet and Jay Lockhart. "It looks like she's finally landed her dream job," the show's description reads. "But little does Sloane know, she's just stumbled into a household full of secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for everyone."
Sources say Lohan (pictured) will play Violet Lockhart.
If it does become a series, Count My Lies will be Lohan’s first lead role in a television or streaming series. She has guest-starred on a number of shows, including Ugly Betty, Eastbound & Down, 2 Broke Girls and Glee (where she played herself).
Lohan will soon be seen in Disney’s feature film Freakier Friday, which hits theaters in August and is a sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday. Other recent roles include the Netflix films Our Little Secret, Irish Wish and Falling for Christmas and a cameo in last year’s musical Mean Girls.
