Fox has announced five start dates for upcoming summer series:
The new event series ‘Wayward Pines’ will premiere on 14 may. The intense psychological thriller ‘Wayward Pines’ will get ten episodes and is based on the international bestselling book series by Blake Crouch. M. Night Shyamalan (‘The Sixth Sense’ and ‘Signs’) will bring the books to life for the television series. Oscar nominee Matt Dillon (‘Crash’) is a secret service agent in search of two missing federal agents, but his investigation just raises more questions. ‘Wayward Pines’ will start simultaneously in more than 125 countries, and will be the world's largest day-and-date launch for a scripted series ever.
The sixth season of ‘Masterchef (US)’ will begin on 20 May and master chef and host Gordon Ramsey will be joined by acclaimed chef Graham Elliot and renowned pastry chef Christina Tosi, founder and owner of the Milk Bar in New York City, as jury. On Wednesday 20 May there will be a two-hour special, beginning a season full of culinary delights and challenges.
The popular quiz ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’, that was revived by Fox, will return on 26 May. Ordinary adults try their luck in a series of questions aimed at a fifth grade level. Adults are asked questions from primary school textbooks. There are five children as classmates who can help the adults in this process. The participants have the opportunity to answer questions in 10 topics for 500,000 dollars and an additional question to win a million dollars. ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’ will have new twists and elements for a new generation of viewers. Jeff Foxworthy will return as host.
The dance contest ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ will return for the 12th series on 1 June. That is on a new night and with a new twist. The series will show the most talented dancers from America presented by Cat Deeley and with returning juror Nigel Lythgoe and Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo as new judges.
