Watched the first episode. Thin story, we've seen a mother-son relationship like this before. Nothing really exciting or funny. Nice as a snack. But nothing more than that. I'm more curious about the storyline of her new young assistant.
Harriet (Harry) Wild is a complex character rarely seen on television. She is not sympathetic, but certainly not unsympathetic either. She is a bit of a snob, often selfish too, she does not like humility or (false) modesty and is not averse to manipulative tricks. She is also a typical 'what you see is what you get' kind of woman. Jane Seymour is a Hollywood veteran and it shows in everything she does. The rest of the acting is not special, the storylines do have some gaps, but the heart is in the right place. A bit like Harry himself, haha! For the rest, the series is comparable in quality to other BBC First series (although this one comes from Ireland - that wonderful dialect!) so if you like that one, Harry Wild won't disappoint you either. I always start with some bias, but along the way I'm actually having a lot of fun.
