Italian Netflix series Il Mostro (The Monster of Florence) gets premiere date and teaser

Netflix has released a new teaser for Il Mostro (The Monster of Florence), a four-part Italian crime drama from director Stefano Sollima.Il Mostro was created by Leonardo Fasoli and Stefano Sollima, who previously collaborated on the famous crime series Gomorra (2014). The series tells the true story of one of the longest and most complex criminal investigations in Italy. It revolves around the country's first and most notorious serial killer, known as the Monster of Florence.

The serial killer was active in the province of Florence between the late 1960s and 1985. He murdered a total of sixteen people, mainly young couples whom he attacked in remote and wooded places. The gruesome murders shocked Italy and led to a long and complicated investigation, which still has legal consequences today.

The series not only delves into the official investigations and legal proceedings, but also highlights the various suspects who have been seen as possible 'monsters' over the years. Moreover, their perspective is included in the story, which provides a layered and psychological approach to the crime drama.

The cast of Il Mostro includes Marco Bullitta, Valentino Mannias, Francesca Olia, Liliana Bottone, Giacomo Fadda, Antonio Tintis and Giordano Mannu.
