In naam van het volk is a Dutch documentaryseries which aired on BNN-VARA. The series premiered on July 23, 2019.

Latin America has a rich tradition of populist leaders. Strong leaders who promised the people that they would do everything differently. But what happens if such a leader comes to power and does not give it away anymore? In the six-part documentary series In Name of the People of BNNVARA, presenter Erik Dijkstra travels through the Latin American continent and explores the enormous attraction of leaders such as Hugo Chávez, Fidel Castro and Evita Perón.
