AMC unveils trailer for the second season of Interview with the Vampire

The series based on Anne Rice's novel returns in May.

The first season of AMC's Interview with the Vampire was not lacking in big emotions. Season two, from the looks of a trailer for the series, will be even more operatic.

The series, which is part of AMC's growing Anne Rice universe, begins its second season on Sunday, May 12. Season two, which the cable network ordered ahead of the series premiere, finished filming in 2023 after receiving a waiver from SAG-AFTRA to continue production in Europe during the actors' strike.

AMC's description of season two reads: "In the year 2022, the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) tells his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). After the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940, when Louis and Claudia ( Delainey Hayles) conspired to kill the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), Louis tells about his adventures in Europe, a search for vampires from the Old World and the Theater Des Vampires in Paris, together with Claudia.

In Paris, Louis meets the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman) for the first time. Their courtship and love affair will have devastating consequences, both past and future, and Molloy will explore the truths buried in the memories.”

Ben Daniels also stars in season two as the leader of Theater Des Vampires. David Costabile, Roxane Duran and Bally Gill have recurring roles.

Series creator and showrunner Rolin Jones produces Interview with the Vampire starring Mark Johnson, Mark Taylor, Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice. The series comes from AMC Studios.
