First of all: what about the translation 'Raven' for what in Polish stands for 'Strange bird - odd one out - or white raven' but not a raven tout court. And Adam Kruk is definitely the odd one out. The series itself is very cinematically conceived, more of a Film Noir or a Psychodrama than a thriller. That image and atmosphere, together with the music, are the main handicap for this series, where the screenplay lags behind. It is doubtful about the valuation, depending on the expectations you set. I can understand that the intended approach can be extremely fascinating to some people, but a tighter scenario would certainly lift the whole thing. All in all a surprisingly good series from Poland. Cinematically, Kieslowsky is never far away here. - While the first series was beautifully filmed, this does not remain the case for the second series. Everything has been put through a cheap 'Lomo-like' filter and interspersed with strange camera settings that contribute nothing. You would understand this as a long bad dream from the memories of a mentally retarded person - but this does not seem to be the intention. To make matters worse, the image format has been changed so that there is no longer any continuity at all. If these were really two separate seasons, this would still be possible, but the story does continue and the ending of series two suggests a sequel. . . IMDb has not yet specified a director for the 2021 release, it seems as if one was not there. It is a shame for the well-intentioned script and deployment of actors. Apart from a few good moments together with a somewhat tighter screenplay, this season is rather disappointing.
