Documentary series LA Fire & Rescue canceled by NBC

NBC will not continue to monitor Southern California first responders.
The Peacock Network has canceled the series LA Fire & Rescue, meaning there will not be a second season. The eight-episode first season aired last August.

LA Fire & Rescue

LA Fire & Rescue is a documentary series about first responders and follows the ins and outs of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The LACoFD is responsible for protecting the lives and property of four million residents of 59 cities in Los Angeles County, and the LACoFD's 2,300 square miles of service is unique in the United States.

From helicopter mountain rescues and lifeguard SOS to fire boats, hazardous materials and California's raging wildfires, the department does it all. The first responders featured in the first season include Station 8 (West Hollywood), Station 16 (Watts), Station 37 (Palmdale), Station 41 (Compton), Station 101 (Claremont), Station 125 (Calabasas). and Station 172 (Inglewood), as well as the air operations known as the “Angels in the Sky” and the L.A. County Fire Department Lifeguard Division.

The first season of LA Fire & Rescue, which aired on Wednesday nights, averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.58 million viewers in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback until 3 a.m.) at night). The series was NBC's lowest-rated series in the demo last summer.
