Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a contemporary story about fortune seekers in the world of oil rigs. The series, based on the eleven-part podcast 'Boomtown', is a compelling story about oil drillers and out-of-control billionaires fueling a boom so big that it is changing our climate, our economy and our geopolitical relationships.
In addition to Thornton, the star-studded series also stars Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone (2018)), Mark Collie (Nashville), Paulina Chávez, and Demi Moore (Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans) in a leading role. Jon Hamm (Mad Men) has a recurring guest role with Andy Garcia and Michael Peña as guest stars.
Landman was created by executive producers Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Christian Wallace, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Stephen Kay. Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch, for Imperative Development LLC, and J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt, for Texas Monthly, also executive produce. Peter Feldman is involved as co-executive producer. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
The series is the latest addition to Sheridan's growing slate on SkyShowtime, including 1883, 1923, Special Ops: Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lawmen: Bass Reeves and all five seasons of Yellowstone (2018).
