Kelli Giddish appears again on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Kelli Giddish's Amanda Rollins returns for a second time on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 25.

After guest starring in the season 25 premiere episode, Giddish will reprise her role as fan-favorite character Rollins in the eleventh episode.

In the season 25 opener, which aired in January, Amanda (Giddish, pictured) returned to celebrate the baptism of her and Carisi's (Peter Scanavino) baby. But the happy occasion was marred by the disappearance of a teenage girl. Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) realizes she saw the girl in a van when she returned from the baptism and becomes obsessed with finding her.

Giddish left the procedural series midway through Season 24, then returned as a guest actress in the Season 24 finale, which was part of a three-way crossover between Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law & Order: Organized Crime.

In her exit episode, Giddish's character Rollins married ADA Sonny Carisi Jr (Scanavino). Rollins also revealed that she had taken a new career path and accepted a teaching position at Fordham University. When she returned, she surprised her former colleagues with the news that she was pregnant.

“Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life,” she posted on social media last year announcing her exit. “There is simply no other character on TV like Rollins. She’s grown and changed, and I have as well.”

Dick Wolf is the creator and executive producer of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. David Graziano, Julie Martin, Hargitay, Norberto Barba, Ken Brown, Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment.
