Legacies - Season 4 (DVD)
Fighting for injustice and defeating the monsters is not as easy as it sounds. The team must make sacrifices in Legacies and put the good of the whole school before themselves. For three seasons, the students of the Salvatore School have been trying to defeat the monster Malivore. They have endured one setback after another. In season three, they've encountered perhaps the biggest setback, which is Malivore in human form, physically in their world in the form of Landon. But how can they defeat him without Hope having to activate her vampire side? And how can they save Cleo from Malivore?
This season is full of excitement and thrills. What the students see as their best friend Landon is actually the monster Malivore. They have to tie the knot, will they continue to choose Landon's presence even though it isn't really him, or can they kill their best friend's guise? This is one of the many difficult choices the Super Squad has to make. Fighting for injustice and defeating the monsters is not as easy as it sounds. Season four is all about Hope. Hope becomes the tribrid and battles with her emotions. Now that she's a vampire, she can choose to turn off her emotions and stop feeling the pain. Everything she's been through, the people she's lost, all the people she loved most eventually push her over the line and cause her to turn off her humanity and become evil. But somewhere in the back of her mind, that little voice of good Hope remains, fighting to come forward and save her friends.
The Super Squad also has to deal with a new threat, the gods who only want one thing, to defeat Hope. Hope is unbeatable in her tribrid form and this makes her a danger to the gods. However, the background of these gods is not quite neatly sorted out by Legacies. Both the Greek and Roman gods are shown as a family, so Legacies misses the point here. However, this does not alter the fact that the concept behind it makes for an interesting final fight of this series where the tension runs high.
The DVD release immediately shows what you can expect from this season, namely a storyline with Hope at the center. Several main characters from the earlier seasons fade into the background and new characters from The Originals make their entrance in Legacies. The quality of the DVD is fine and there are plenty of language options to choose from. You can choose from spoken English, German or French and for subtitles, there are options to choose between Dutch, English, German or French.
