Zoe Saldaña plays Joe, head of the Lioness program, who is responsible for training, managing and directing its female undercover agents.
In the second season, as the CIA's fight against terror hits closer to home, Joe (Zoe Saldaña), Kaitlyn (Nicole Kidman) and Byron (Michael Kelly) enlist the help of a new Lioness agent to solve a hitherto infiltrate unknown threat. With mounting pressure from all sides, Joe is forced to confront the deep personal sacrifices she has made as leader of the Lioness program.
The series also stars Morgan Freeman, Genesis Rodriguez, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier.
The series is a creation of Taylor Sheridan. The American film and series producer is best known as the co-creator of the hit series Yellowstone (2018), which first came out in America and quickly became one of the most watched television series. He has also created two follow-up series that delve deeper into the history of the Dutton family, 1883 and 1923. He also co-created other series such as Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown, with which he often raised the question: does Taylor Sheridan have more hours in a day than the average person?
For Lioness, Sheridan worked with executive producers David C. Glasser, Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Keith Cox.
