Amanda Seyfried stars in Peacock's Long Bright River

Amanda Seyfried, known for Hulu's limited series The Dropout, is set to star in Long Bright River, a limited series for Peacock.Long Bright River is a suspense thriller that tells the story of Mickey (Seyfried), a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hit hard by the opioid crisis. When a series of murders occur in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history may be connected to the case.



The series is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same name by Liz Moore. Seyfried (pictured) will also produce the series for Sony Pictures Television and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The project leaked after Seyfried and Moore were spotted on patrol with Philadelphia's 26th Precinct police on Tuesday.

Nikki Toscano (The Offer, Hunters (2020)) and Moore write and produce, Toscano is the showrunner. Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Amanda Lewis produce for Original Film and Amy Pascal for Pascal Pictures.

Hagar Ben-Asher (City on a Hill, Bosch: Legacy) directs and produces the first episode.
