If you don't like gritty and grimey, you better click this one away. If you did enjoy the straightforwardness of Braquo, Engrenages and Top Boy, then this might just be for you. It is not fine dining with a truffle velouté with ravioli of foie gras and Madeira, but uncomplicated robust Dutch fare with large pieces of turnip and other forgotten vegetables that end in chicory and cabbage. When the IRA has finally laid down its weapons, Johnny Boy and his men are having a blast in Dublin. They rule the streets with a heavy hand in an effort to stay at the head of the criminal food chain. Darren, played by Robert Sheehan, also contributes to this and that's nice, because Sheehan was also the man who made Misfits a nice series on his own.

accidentally came across love / hate on netflix and immediately dived into it which I certainly do not regret. raw series I noticed that one of the protagonists johny boy fell prey to a settlement, I am not yet found out who is behind this. I personally think the role of drones is strongly portrayed by Robert Sheehan.

The first two seasons were good, but a bit changeable. The plot and acting could perhaps be better. Nevertheless, a strong start. Raw Irish mafia series with drama elements, coarse humor, nice soundtrack, fast camera work, fun characters and a wonderful 'Hooligan / Ghetto' edge. In season 3, this series develops rapidly. Everything was right. What a strong character development, unheard of. Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Nidge is great and on the same level as James Gandolfini. Season 4 may have a lesser plot and felt like a stepping stone for the last season. Fortunately this worked out well, because I really enjoyed season 5. On the edge of my seat and with TV moments that will stay with me forever. KING!
