Although I usually watch a series like this in half a day, I am currently only halfway through and "Luke Cage" cannot convince me yet. Although viewable, the story itself is very cliché and it conveys that there is someone walking around with super powers really nothing new at all. Furthermore, at times it seems that the person who wrote the script has regularly stopped somewhere and then moved on without first reading where he just left off. Just as the department responsible for the "special effects" performed part of their job on a Monday morning. No, to be honest, I don't think this series will have a somewhat decent score by the time I've struggled past the last episode. For the stupid things that could have been better, I think a "small" spoiler follows, which will probably grow a bit afterwards because of course I am still only halfway through the season. Update: Eight episodes, I really couldn't afford more and the mark of 7+ that I wanted to give it in the beginning has also decreased considerably.

It may be obvious that street criminals are not necessarily the smartest group in the population, but a strong plan is difficult to call if you steal $ 1 million from a gangster boss who controls the entire neighborhood and then go into a room a few blocks away. sit down and wait with your share of the loot like "Chico" does .... Unfortunately, we never find out how many years "Chico" planned to stay in the room until everything was blown over. Then "Chico" appears in the back room of "Pop". While they are talking with Luke "Turk" appears. A few minutes later "Pop" asks "Chico" if anyone has seen him .... After the attack on the barber shop, Luke turns over the dying "Pop" and says "Do you hear the sirens? They're almost here" and then immediately shout "Somebody call a goddamn ambulance" .... Revolutionary machine guns or some sloppiness from the special effects department? I'm already betting on the latter. If you pay a little attention in the scene where Luke re-enters the barbershop for the first time after the attack, you will see that the bullet holes are perpendicular to the side walls, which of course is not possible as there was shooting from outside the shop. Unless there are indeed machine guns whose bullets change direction after about 5 meters at an angle of 90 degrees. During the experiment with Luke in the lab inside the prison, Rackham stands next to the machine while the doctor flees to the control room. After the explosion, both Rackham and the Doctor lie in the same room as the blast would force them to fly in different directions. After "Cottonmouth" attack on the restaurant, Luke saves Connie who when they see the emergency services, after Luke has moved about half a building that was on top of them, says: "I can't believe You did this", to which Luke: " Which is why I think You should keep what happened here between us ". Luckily, the handful of people watching them don't notice ... When Luke and Claire arrive at the barber shop where Scarfe is at that moment, Luke notices that the door is open and says: "It's supposed to be locked". It's nice that safety comes first at Luke. The fact that there is plastic foil hanging in the door as well as in the windows where glass should be, which, by the way, is also torn, does not matter much, as long as the door is locked ... A metal that comes from another planet is one thing, getting it and making bullets out of it a second thing, but that everyone is just convinced that the "Judas ammunition" could also injure the invulnerable Luke Cage is surely punishment. Unless there was a manual. When Luke is shot at the end of the seventh episode, Claire provides an ambulance through a family member. Even though they are on their way to an unknown location, the shooter turns out to have guessed correctly because he is lined up on the way to stop the ambulance with a bazooka. The reason why the shooter didn't finish his job when he shot Luke the first time is a mystery to me, a second shot in a place where there are no obstacles with a victim who cannot flee would have been very simple. But even after he has stopped the ambulance, the shooter only finds time to tell a story but not to make another attempt to finish Luke. If he's gone to all that trouble to intercept the ambulance anyway, one extra attempt to kill Luke seems like the least he can do, even though he can hear sirens in the distance. In a city like New York, you might hear sirens that aren't necessarily headed your way. You have that in a city where roughly 10 million people walk around. After Mariah has openly accused Luke of Cottonmouth's murder, Misty tries to reach Luke on his cell phone. Luke, meanwhile, is on an operating table and Claire takes the call. After some time, Luke says to disconnect because the police are trying to trace their location. Claire ends the call and then puts the cell phone on the table ... As everyone knows, a cell phone doesn't have to be on a call at all to find out its location and since Misty called the number herself it would be child's play for her to find out where Luke and Claire are exactly at that moment. The fact that Misty's colleague is sitting in front of a PC to determine a position on the basis of 3 radio masts as long as the conversation is running is just plain nonsense ... And the nonsense does not end here ... The shooter dares another attempt to kill Luke while being cared for by Claire in the women's clinic. Thanks to Misty, who has just arrived, this attack fails. When Luke tries to overpower the shooter, however, something strange happens. Where he was previously invulnerable and crooks broke their bones when they hit him without even flinching, this crook must be able to hit really hard because Luke groans under the blows. And it gets even better because the shooter disarms Misty and actually shoots a few extra holes in Luke who is hit in the chest and leg, among other things. It must be that Misty also has "Judas bullets" ... It could hardly be otherwise because a little before then Luke pushes Claire's scalpel on his body and the same Claire has just explained to us why Luke's skin is is impenetrable ... Also on the next chance the shooter gets to shoot Luke, he prefers to make an attempt to kill Luke rather than shoot him through the brain. After all, we have now arrived in a theater, so a slightly more subtle approach would not be out of place .... Unfortunately, I am not resistant to more nonsense from this superhero and his friends, so that the ride for me stops prematurely after 8 tantalizing episodes. If you want to see more nonsense, you should definitely look further for yourself, I am sure that the makers have a few things in store for you ...

I've now seen the first 2 episodes and I just don't know if I should continue with it. Because it's a bit corny and a lot of things don't add up as you mentioned above. Would you advise me to just watch the series or is it just really not worth it and should I just wait for the next marvel series?

In the meantime I stopped after eight episodes, but of course I can hardly judge for anyone else whether he / she should look further or not. There are people for whom this series is worth a 10 and that is of course their full right and very nice for them, but I know for myself that if I add 5 episodes of the same caliber as the first 8, my final score is closer to a 3 would be closer to a 10.

Delicious action fantasy series. Especially because it's not over the top like in the master Marvel superhero movies. Well acted too.

Mwhahh. Starts off promising, made with love and Misty is a sweetheart. But after episode three, the writers sat down somewhere on a terrace to already baffle the advance. After episode 8/9, some of the magic returns. Jessica Jones so much better.

I don't think the series is bad, I have the first 8 episodes on it. Of what has come out of superhero series, I think this one, together with Dare Devil, is the best one out. I have nothing with Agents of Shield when it comes to Marvel, too forced there is no tension ... on z ' n best, forced action. Officer Carter, I think a bit too musty, not her necessarily, but the atmosphere around it. Jessica Jones also belongs in the "Hell's Kitchen" atmosphere, but I don't necessarily see her as a super heroine . I am not really pleased with the DC-Comics series, especially Gotham I think is a very poor substitute for Batman characters, and sooo unbelievable as the plague ... a missed opportunity, just as if you are watching GTST with a strip touch. To get back to Luke Cage, except for the exaggerated / made laughter of "Cotton Mouth", I have very little negative to say about the series ..... man, that's really annoying ... Other than that, I think it's story but also the suspense certainly not wrong. The murder of "Pop", the hairdressers, the background story of Luke Cage, "DiamondBack", all those missed attempts by Cotton Mouth to kill Luke. Just cool!

watched the whole season but it was tough. is a kind of slow walk in the series luke cage walks in slow motion it seems and that draws all the energy from watching the series. just got tired of watching. good series further, but are you going to start on this series, start when you are rested and do not start in the evening you were crushed I recommend a pot of coffee or a tree energy drink I only watched this series through daredevil / iron- fist / the punniser and jesica jones when I watched iron-fist I found out that there was another spinoff that hadn't gotten my attention at all. am afraid for the future of this series. 1 daredevil is just great and looks away very well 2 punisher is like the movie nice action couldn't be better 3 luke cage heavy to watch but in the end still a good series think that only it will break up by other viewer and stop it quickly 4 ironfist started quite rough, but once you walk a little further in the story you can't wait until next season. 5 jessica jones also keeper don't compare these spinnofs with the arrow / theflash / supergirl / legends or tommorow. Let's hope that Netflix is going to continue something with this series and defenders are getting a bit interesting although the punisher is here I don't believe

I am now at episode 7. I can easily look them away but I am not convinced. Sympathetic man who is Luke, but thinks the story is a bit like Daredevil for example. I gave a 6 because I am happy with this kind of Marvel series equal DD and J. Jones. But there are series that are much better.

Daredevil ..... pretty good series, Jessica Jones .... Even better series .... then snoozfest Luke Cage .... Super long winded and boring episodes. Luckily after that came Iron Fist which I think is much better. They should have given this series 10 eps per season. It is that here and there there are some minor connections with the other Marvel series from Netflix, and that the series is part of that, but otherwise I would have skipped it.

After 5 episodes I can already say that it is not DD or YJ. It's okay, but nothing more at the moment. I'll check it out, but 1 episode a day is more than enough.
