CBS gives four rookies a full season

CBS has ordered full seasons for its four new series: ‘Madam Secretary’, ‘Scorpion’, ‘NCIS: New Orleans’, and ‘Stalker’. This means that each series gets 22 episodes. NCIS: New Orleans and Scorpion rank as the number 1 and 2 of best-watched new broadcast dramas of the season.

"These four shows have had an immediate impact on our schedule by improving nights, winning time periods and adding more hours of success across our prime time lineup." said Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS Entertainment.

Of these four the least surprising is ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ with an average of 18.16 million viewers per episode. NCIS: New Orleans is the second spin-off of the still hugely popular NCIS with Scott Bakula (Star Trek: Enterprise) in the lead role.

Scorpion’, based on the life of genius Walter O'Brien, has an average of 15.17 million viewers on Monday night. If it will stay that way, remains to be seen now ‘The Big Bang Theory’ will be moved to Thursday night.

Madam Secretary, the drama series about the personal and professional life of a female nonconformist State Secretary, doesn’t have any complaints about the ratings on Sunday evening with an average of 13.5 million viewers.

The most surprising is the psychological drama series ‘Stalker’. The series has been the subject of criticism by many critics that the series is too violent and misogynistic, but the viewer gets the biggest vote from CBS because with a healthy 9.5 million viewers ‘Stalker’ is the winner on Wednesday evening.

What do you think of this development, do you agree with CBS or do you prefer that a series was cancelled?
