Marvel is currently very proud of the success of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and has Secret Invasion which premieres on Disney+ on Wednesday, June 21. There's one more movie coming out this year, which is The Marvels, but MCU fans still have plenty to look forward to, as the studio just announced when Loki season two will kick off.
Disney+ launches the second season of Marvel's Loki on Friday, October 6. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige announced the date Tuesday during Disney's Upfront presentation, where he also introduced first images from the upcoming season. New episodes will air weekly.
Marvel's Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, is set in a world bordering on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where the God of Mischief is a fish out of water when he gets into trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) after escaping with the Tesseract.
Hiddleston is joined in the cast by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) has been added to the cast.
Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will direct and produce season two. Eric Martin is lead writer and co-producer with Hiddleston and Michael Waldron.
As part of the presentation, Feige also revealed that Echo will release later in 2023, meaning even more Marvel to come this year. But, in a surprise move, Marvel's Hawkeye spinoff will release all episodes at once on Wednesday, November 29. That's a first for an MCU series, as they usually come out on a weekly basis. But fans will no doubt be checking out everything from Echo as soon as it comes out, with the events of the second season of Marvel's Loki still fresh in their minds.
