Leading up to the highly anticipated release of the second season, Disney+ has just released the first poster for the new season.
The new poster, released yesterday, gives us a look at Loki in a variety of guises, from the God of Mischief we all know and love to a few more sharply dressed characters. The poster shows the various Loki running around on the face of Miss Minutes, a cartoon clock and secondary character from the series' first season. Interestingly enough, Miss Minutes has her eyes mostly on Loki in his God of Mischief form.
The first season had many big reveals for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the introduction of Kang the Conqueror, who looks set to become one of the MCU's next major enemies. The series also introduced viewers to an alternate version of Loki named Sylvie, which was created in a new timeline. It looks like time will once again be a major theme in season two of Loki, as evidenced by the new poster.
The MCU version of Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, is one of the most iconic characters of the Marvel franchise. He made his debut in the 2011 movie Thor, playing the villainous adopted brother of the heroic Thor. However, his character quickly became a fan favorite, with many followers of the franchise drawn to Hiddleston's magnetic performance. Since his debut, he's become a more complicated character, with one of the MCU's best redemption scenarios.
It was just a matter of time before Hiddleston would get his own title and for some, the series came way too late when it premiered in 2021. The series was critically acclaimed by fans and critics alike and featured a star-studded cast, including Owen Wilson as Mobius.
The series was one of the first Marvel series to be released on Disney+, following Marvel's WandaVision and Marvel's The Falcon and Winter Soldier. Now Loki season two is coming out in a very different Marvel landscape. Disney+ is full, even overflowing with Marvel content. Will season two of Loki be able to make the same impression as season one?
