Martijn Lakemeijer and the Argentinian Delfina Chaves play the leading roles of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima in the biographical drama series. They are a couple in front of the camera, but outside of it too.
The upcoming royalty series was shot in Argentina, Spain, New York and the Netherlands and follows all the locations where Máxima has lived.
The bestseller Motherland: the early years of Máxima Zorreguieta was the inspiration for the Videoland series, and was written by Marcia Luyten in 2021.
During a conversation with RTL Boulevard, the new couple revealed more. Chaves shared, "We always had a lot of fun while working. It was a long adventure and it was hard work. I feel like we kept each other good company. And yes, there is chemistry between us."
Lakemeijer added: "When we finished filming in September, we decided to visit each other. Even after filming." And so it happened.
The six-part series Máxima can be seen at Videoland from Saturday April 20.
