Netflix cancels two series

Netflix cancels two series

Netflix has revealed that V-Wars and October Faction will not be renewed for a second season.
Netflix has decided to cancel V-Wars, starring Ian Somerhalder, after only one season. V-Wars revolves around Dr Luther Swann, who sees his best friend turn into a vampire. When more people end up infected with the vampire virus, an epidemic ensues, and a war between the vampires and humanity erupts. Netflix hasn't revealed why they've decided to cancel the series, but, likely, the series didn't get enough viewers since its release in December.

October Faction will also not be renewed. This series wasn't able to attract a lot of viewers since the release in January. October Faction revolves around retired monster hunters Fred and Deloris Allen who return to their birth town in New York alongside their teenage children. A relative has died, but the parents soon discover it is challenging to keep their secret identity a secret from their children and their new neighbours.

Well, Netflix may have too many series and not everything can always be a success. These are also two series that I ignored, because it all sounded too dull to me. V-Wars looks like a video game from the 80's (in terms of title) and October Faction doesn't sound very exciting either. And it often starts with the name, which must be tantalizing and draw your attention to the abundance of series today.

Netflix does indeed make too many series. and most are canceled after 1 or 2 seasons. Apart from House of Cards, Orange is the new Black and Grace & Frankie, I can name little or no series of theirs that has 5 or more seasons.

You can add The Crown to that. It has three seasons, but I think it will save those five seasons. Most Netflix series, however, stick a bit with three seasons, I have the idea. Narcos has three seasons, Lost In Space will have a third, final season, You will have a third season (and then it can also stop). I am now working on the third season of Ozark and I think that is another strong season, so I hope for at least a fourth season.

I don't think it's a problem if it stays with 1 season or 2 or 3. Series really don't have to run for 8 or 10 seasons, as long as there is a good ending, unfortunately that is often not the case.

Yes that's what I mean. I don't have to do for several seasons, but then Netflix will come up with a new series, which you will then watch. With a bit of luck there will be a 2nd season, which you also watch and then suddenly cancel. They have already done that with so many series. Chambers, Spinning Out, Soundtrack, Messiah, V-Wars, October Faction, Gypsy ... Many also with open ends ...

Indeed, open endings are much more annoying than having only a few seasons on a series. One half of the series goes on far too long, the other half is (sometimes) removed too quickly.

V-wars was disappointing indeed. Coincidentally, just watched the 1st season last week, but already assumed that it would not be continued. A shame because season 2 would contain a lot more action.

I dropped out of V-wars after two episodes. Wasn't it really interesting enough. Too bad, because Somerhalder is a good actor.
