15478 cast We Were Liars

We Were Liars is a tragic love story and amnesia thriller set on a private island off the coast of Massachusetts. It centers on the wealthy, seemingly perfect Sinclair family, who spend every summer on their private island. Gummer, Fitzgerald and King play the three Sinclair sisters.

Lind plays Cadence. The respected eldest granddaughter of a Kennedy-esque American dynasty is effortlessly smart and adventurous with a knack for dramatic storytelling. She falls in love for the first time during an idyllic, dreamy summer with her best friends on her family's private island in New England... blissfully unaware that just a year later she will be a shell of herself - astute , plagued by migraines and unable to remember the events that led to her terrifying traumatic brain injury. In her search for answers, Cadence is about to unravel everything she has been led to believe about the fairytale lore of the Sinclair family.

Maheshwari is Gat. Thoughtful, ambitious and intelligent, Gat is a boy from New York with a sharp edge. He feels a bit out of place among the cashmere and checked elite of Martha's Vineyard. Yet he returns to Beechwood Island year after year because he can't resist spending the summer with his best friend... who he's longed for since he didn't know what longing was. This year, she finally seems to reciprocate his feelings - but the timing couldn't be worse, because Gat now has a secret that could drive her away forever.

McGregor plays Mirren. Mirren is a study in contradiction, funny and perceptive. She's an artist too concerned with being perfect to color outside the lines. She craves new experiences, but clings to her childhood like a security blanket. She desperately wants to lose her virginity... but refuses to do anything she's not sure she'll excel at right away. However, when she accidentally stumbles upon a scandalous family secret, she is catapulted out of her comfort zone... whether she is ready or not.

Zada plays Johnny. Johnny is charismatic, dirty and occasionally reckless. He is the leader of his friends' mischievous adventures. He goes through life as if he is invincible - after all, he has never met a problem that his emotional support Amex cannot solve. This summer he is about to be held accountable for the first time. Suffice it to say, he's not a fan.

The cast also includes Arsher Ali in a regular role and Wendy Crewson, who has a recurring role.

The series is written and produced by Plec and MacKenzie, with the former writing the first episode and the latter writing the second. Also executive producing are Emily Cummins for My So-Called Company and the novel's author, Lockhart. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Amazon MGM Studios are the studios. Nzingha Stewart directs the first episode.

Lockhart's YA novel, published by Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House Children's Books, has sold nearly three million copies worldwide.

Lind played Audrey Hope in HBO Max's Gossip Girl (2021) reboot and had roles in CBS' Code Black and ABC's Revenge, among others. McGregor starred in Freevee's comedy series High School and had a guest role on Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi.
