Toni Collette cast in Netflix's limited series Wayward

Toni Collette is a regular actress on the upcoming Netflix Canada series Wayward (aka Tall Pines). The eight-episode Wayward is a thriller set in an idyllic yet sinister town that explores the treacherous underbelly of the "problematic teen industry" and the eternal struggle between one generation and the next.



Collette (pictured) joins the cast led by Mae Martin, the series' creator, executive producer and co-showrunner. She plays Leanne, the headmistress of Tall Pines.

The cast also includes regular actors Sarah Gadon, Brandon Jay McLaren, Sydney Topliffe and Alyvia Alyn Lind and returning guest stars Patrick J. Adams, Patrick Gallagher and Josh Close.

Martin serves as co-showrunner with Ryan Scott, who is also executive producer. Ben Farrell produces through his Objective Fiction, along with Hannah Mackay, Jennifer Kawaja and Bruno Dubé. Sphere Media produces.

This marks a return to Netflix for Collette, who starred in the 2022 series Pieces of Her. She also appeared in HBO Max's limited series The Staircase and Prime Video's The Power.

In feature films, Collette, an Oscar nominee for The Sixth Sense, was recently seen in indie film Mafia Mamma. She has two films from Warner Bros. upcoming, Mickey 17 starring Robert Pattinson and Mark Ruffalo, directed by Bong Ho; and Clint Eastwood's Juror #2, which reunites her with Nicholas Hoult after they starred together in About a Boy.
