Emmy-winning actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen ll will star in and executive produce Netflix series Man on Fire.
The eight-episode drama series is an adaptation based on Man on Fire and The Perfect Kill by A.J. Quinnell, the first two books in Quinnell's five-book series that were previously adapted into a film in 2004 starring Denzel Washington and in a 1987 Italian film of the same name.

On television, Abdul-Mateen II played Cal Abar/Dr. Manhattan in Damon Lindelof's HBO limited series Watchmen (2019), a role that earned the actor his first Emmy nomination and first win. He also had a series regular role in Netflix's The Get Down, created by Baz Luhrmann and Stephen Adly Guirgis. He can soon be seen as the titular superhero in Marvel's Wonder Man, a 10-episode series for Disney+.
