Lamorne Morris cast opposite Nicolas Cage in Spider-Noir

Actor-comedian Lamorne Morris has been cast in a regular role in the series Spider-Noir.
Spider-Noir is the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. In the Sony Pictures TV-produced series, which has been retitled from its original title Noir to emphasize the branching of the Spider-Man Universe, Morris (pictured below) will play the character Robbie Robertson.

From executive producers/co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, Spider-Noir tells the story of an aging private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his former life as the city's one and only superhero.

Robbie Robertson (Morris) is driven, hardworking and doesn't take no for an answer. He's a dedicated journalist trying to make it despite the odds stacked against him as a black professional in 1930s New York. He takes on riskier stories that no one else would touch to get attention and a paycheck. He is willing to do whatever it takes for his career.

Harry Bradbeer directs and produces the first two episodes of the series, which Uziel and Lightfoot developed with the team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, who are also executive producers. Spider-Noir will debut domestically on MGM+'s linear channel and then globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

Morris is known for his role as Winston Bishop on the Fox comedy series New Girl and Hulu's comedy series Woke (2020) and was seen in the most recent fifth season of FX's anthology series Fargo. Morris will soon have a recurring role in the second season of Netflix comedy series Unstable.
