Bosch: Legacy Spinoff Casts Actors for Maggie Q's Renee Ballard's Team

Detective Renee Ballard has assembled a team to solve unsolved cases. Prime Video's Maggie Q-led spinoff of Bosch: Legacy, which still doesn't have a title, has added four new actors, including Michael Mosley (pictured below) and veteran Amy Hill.



The new series in the Bosch universe, which was ordered last November, has Detective Ballard appointed head of the LAPD's new Cold Cases Unit — a poorly funded, volunteer unit with the heaviest caseload in the city.

“Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination,” the synopsis continues. “When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she’ll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch, to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.”

Previously cast were John Carroll Lynch as Thomas Laffont, Renee's former partner who comes out of retirement to help her run the Cold Case unit, and Courtney Taylo as Samira Parker, a wary ex-cop who returns to the force at the urging of her former mentor Ballard.



New to the cast is Mosley as Ted, a reserve officer assigned to unsolved cases to keep an eye on Ballard, and Hill (pictured) as Tutu, Ballard’s feisty grandmother.

Other new regulars include Rebecca Field as Colleen, an enthusiastic and eccentric volunteer, and Victoria Moroles as Martina, a smart legal intern.

Maggie Q will make her debut as Ballard, a character from Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch novels, in the season finale of Prime Video’s Bosch: Legacy, which has yet to be released but will be based on Connelly’s novels Desert Star (from 2022) and The Black Ice (1993).

Mosley starred in the fourth season of USA Network’s The Sinner starring Bill Pullman and will soon be seen in the upcoming Apple TV+ crime thriller series The Savant .

Hill had a series regular role on the CBS/NBC series Magnum, P.I. and recurring roles on AMC’s Preacher, The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Lifetime/Hulu’s UnREAL, among others.

Field has appeared in OWN's All Rise, Lifetime's The Client List and ABC's Grey's Anatomy.

Moroles is best known for her role as Hayden Romero on MTV's Teen Wolf.
