P.J. Byrne will star in USA Network's The Rainmaker

USA Network's The Rainmaker has P.J. Byrne added to the regular cast.
From showrunner and executive producer Michael Seitzman and based on the novel of the same name by John Grisham, The Rainmaker follows Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan) who, fresh out of law school, takes on veteran attorney Leo Drummond (John Slattery) and his girlfriend Sarah Plankmore (Madison Iseman). Rudy, together with his boss (Lana Parrilla) and her disheveled assistant, discover two conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client's son.

Byrne (pictured) plays Deck Shifflet, an unfiltered law student who has failed the bar seven times. He now works as an unsentimental paralegal at J. Lyman Stone.

In director Francis Ford Coppola's 1997 film The Rainmaker, Deck was famously played by Danny DeVito.

The Rainmaker received a series order from cable network NBCUniversal in June, ending a six-year journey by Seitzman to bring the book to television. Seitzman and Jason Richman wrote the pilot script and Seitzman served as the series' showrunner. The two produce alongside Grisham, Jason Blum and David Gernert.

Byrne recently starred in The Big Cigar for Apple TV+ and two of Prime Video's superhero titles: The Boys and its spin-off series Gen V. His television roles also include Peacock's Irreverent, Ghosts for CBS, The CW's Black Lightning and HBO's Big Little Lies.

On the film side, his resume includes Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street and Damien Chazelle's Babylon.
