Michael Harney added to the cast for The Better Sister

Michael Harney (Orange Is the New Black) has been cast in The Better Sister starring Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks.
Based on the novel by Alafair Burke, The Better Sister is about the terrible things that tear sisters apart and ultimately bring them back together.

Biel leads the cast as Chloe, who navigates the world with her handsome lawyer Adam and teenage son Ethan by her side, while her estranged sister Nicky (Banks) struggles to stay clean and make ends meet. When Adam is brutally murdered, the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family and uncovers long-buried secrets.

In a recurring role, Harney (pictured) will play Arty, a Queens native who is a loyal doorman to Chloe's building.

The series also stars Lorraine Toussaint, Corey Stoll, Bobby Naderi, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Kim Dickens, Gabriel Sloyer, Matthew Modine and Gloria Reuben. Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado are the showrunners and executive producers of the series, with Craig Gillespie serving as director and executive producer. Author Burke offers advice on the series. The series, which will stream on Prime Video, is a co-production between Tomorrow Studios and Amazon MGM Studios.

Harney can also soon be seen in Hulu's Interior Chinatown, starring Jimmy O. Yang. Previous series roles include playing Sam Healy in Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, Jack Broadstreet in Apple TV+'s For All Mankind and Steve Fields in HBO's Deadwood.
