Melissa Benoist (photo below), Jake Weary, Danielle Campbell, Rafael L. Silva, Brady Hepner and Humberly González, together with Holt McCallany and Maria Bello, form the regular cast of Netflix series The Waterfront, written and produced by Kevin Williamson.

Inspired by true events, the eight-episode series delves into the Buckley family, led by Holt McCallany's Harlan Buckley and Maria Bello's Mae Buckley. Their attempts to maintain control of their crumbling fishing empire in North Carolina drive them to increasingly dangerous means to stay afloat.

Gerardo Celasco and Michael Gaston appear in recurring roles. Zach Roerig will appear as a guest star.

Benoist (Supergirl) plays Bree Buckley, the intelligent and hot-tempered Buckley who used to manage the finances of the fishing industry and, like her father, let alcohol ruin her bright future. After losing custody of her son, Bree struggles to maintain a relationship with him while staying sober.

Weary (Animal Kingdom (2016) will play Cane Buckley, Harlan's only son who has a complicated relationship with his father, but never stops trying to do the right thing for his father and can't say no to him. Married to Peyton (Campbell) and father of a young daughter, Cane loves the money his family business brings him, a band-aid for the life he was given instead of the life he wanted.

Campbell's Peyton Buckle is a true Southern woman built to shine. Cane's wife and mother of an eight-year-old, who loves Cane and understands his complex relationship with his father.

9-1-1: Lone Star actor Silva (pictured) plays Shawn Wilson, a new bartender to the Buckleys who is intrigued by the family and harbors a secret that could disrupt the family forever.

Hepner plays Diller Hopkins, Bree's son who now lives with her ex-husband. Diller is a resentful teenager, a product of an alcoholic mother. Although Bree wants to repair their relationship, Diller treats her with hostility and turns to his grandfather Harlan, whom he idolizes.

González (Ginny & Georgia) plays Jenna Tate, a journalist who leaves town to return to Beaufort to care for her ailing father. When she returns to her hometown, she is confronted with past relationships, including her high school sweetheart Cane, who still harbors a flame for her.

Celasco (Devil in Ohio) plays DEA agent Marcus Sanchez, Gaston (Five Days at Memorial) plays Sheriff Clyde Porter and Roerig (The Vampire Diaries) plays Troy.

Williamson and Ben Fast produce for Outerbanks Entertainment. Marcos Siega directs the first two episodes and serves as executive producer on the pilot. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, where Williamson is under an overall deal, is the studio.
