Five actors added to Prime Video series Scarpetta

Prime Video's Scarpetta has added five actors to its cast in recurring roles.
Prime Video has significantly expanded the cast for Scarpetta. Sosie Bacon, Amanda Righetti (pictured), Janet Montgomery, Stephanie Faracy and Mike Vogel have been cast in the series.

They join the previously announced Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis, who both also executive produce; Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Rosy McEwen, Jake Cannavale and Ariana DeBose.

Based on Patricia Cornwell's bestseller, Scarpetta follows Kay Scarpetta (Kidman), chief medical examiner, as she returns to Virginia and resumes her old role with complex relationships both personal and professional - including her sister Dorothy (Curtis), who holds a lot of grudges and has secrets to unravel.

Bacon (Mare of Easttown) plays Abby Turnball, an award-winning reporter; Righetti (The Mentalist) plays Dorothy from the past; Montgomery (New Amsterdam (2018)) plays Janet, Lucy's wife; Faracy (Sneaky Pete) plays present-day Maggie, Scarpetta's inherited assistant from her predecessor, and Vogel (Under the Dome, pictured) plays city attorney Bill Boltz.

The series was officially picked up for two seasons earlier this month, revealing that the project had been in the works since early 2023.

Liz Sarnoff will write, produce and serve as showrunner on the series. David Gordon Green will direct the first two episodes.

Kidman will executive produce for Blossom Films and Curtis will executive produce for Comet Pictures. Cornwell produces for P&S Projects alongside Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie and Chris McCumber for Blumhouse Television and Per Saari for Blossom Films.

David Gordon Green and Amy Sayres also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Blumhouse Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Blossom Films and Comet Pictures.
