Connie Britton Joins New, As-Yet-Untitled HBO Comedy Series Starring Steve Carell

Five-time Emmy-nominated actress Connie Britton has joined the cast of the upcoming, as-yet-untitled HBO Original comedy series starring Steve Carell.
The series comes from Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Shrinking) and Matt Tarses (Scrubs, The Goldbergs (2013)). Connie Britton, known for The White Lotus and Friday Night Lights, will have a recurring guest role as the ex-wife of the main character, played by Steve Carell.

Set on a college campus, the series follows an author (Carell) and his complicated relationship with his daughter (played by Charly Clive). The comedy series will consist of ten half-hour episodes, with the first one written by Lawrence and Tarses.

In addition to Steve Carell and Charly Clive, the previously announced cast includes Danielle Deadwyler (From Scratch), Phil Dunster (Ted Lasso), John C. McGinley (Scrubs), and Lauren Tsai (Legion).

Britton recently starred in the Netflix miniseries Zero Day, opposite Robert De Niro. She previously starred in Apple TV+’s Dear Edward and appeared in Benito Skinner’s Prime Video comedy series Overcompensating.

Prior to that, she starred in the first season of Mike White's HBO series The White Lotus, for which she received her fifth Emmy nomination. Britton is perhaps best known for her role as Tami Taylor on NBC's Friday Night Lights, a sports drama developed by Peter Berg based on the 1990 nonfiction book by H.G. Bissinger.

I'm sure I'm one of the few but I haven't seen much of him in recent years because I don't find him that funny anymore... Pre-2010 he had some real hits, Bruce Almighty, Anchorman, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Little Miss Sunshine and a few more. But after 2010 I got tired of Steve Carrel.
And I have the same thing with Jim Carrey.
