Spotlight On: Ella-June Henrard

Lights off, spotlight on! Time to see which series Ella-June Henrard also has on her resume.
Ella-June Henrard was born in Antwerp in 1993. What is not yet known is that a new actress is taking her first steps in life in Belgium. Steps that lead to her first important role in the film Bo at the age of seventeen.

The starting shot of a rapidly developing career. Henrard first appears in small series roles, especially when she further conquers the viewers on the big screen. Her first role on the small screen is as a guest star on the daily soap opera Ella. That same year also followed a role in the Dutch ten-part series Seinpost Den Haag.

Not long after Ella, Henrard can be admired for the first time in a longer series. That series is Crème De La Crème, by Gerrie van Rompaey. Although the series consists of only ten episodes, she appears in six of them. The series tells the feel-good story of three childhood friends who want a change in their thirties. That creates sensation, romance and intrigue.

Youth series Galaxy Park follows. With more than a hundred episodes, this story about a group of young people who work at an amusement park - one of whom turns out to be an alien - and it will last for quite some time. Henrard's role is limited to only four episodes. That doesn't mean she's sitting still. Henrard can also be seen in the drama Zomer and the Dutch blockbuster Michiel de Ruyter.

And then suddenly it goes fast. Perhaps it was a conscious choice for Henrard to temporarily focus more on series. On the other hand, she may also be more in demand due to the rapid, growing popularity in the series landscape. The first series that follows is It's Showtime, a Flemish comedy that stays on the screens for quite some time.

That cannot be said of My Worst Best Friend. The Streamz series has sixty episodes full of friendship - and hate. As every woman knows - according to the series - there is a best and worst friend in every woman that you can imagine. That creates enough conflict for a series of jokes and jokes formed in a series.

Fair Trade is a completely different matter. The crime series revolves around two police officers, who once started their job full of good things, but frustrated by bureaucracy and the cunning tricks of dubious lawyers, they even become increasingly confused in the gray world of crime. Henrard plays Robin de Rover, one of the once-promising cops.

De Kraak also offers excitement. This drama series revolves around a hacker who, after winning a hacking contest, is recruited by a criminal gang. The aim is to capture around 350 million euros from a large bank in Frankfurt. The miniseries shows how that ends with a lot of violence.

A next trip to the Netherlands resulted in a role for Henrard in Swanenburg. We watch twenty episodes with the stinking rich Praal family. However, if there turns out to be a traitor within the family, the real dirty laundry comes out - as is often the case.

In the miniseries Het Proces Dat Niemand Wou (The Trial Nobody Wanted) we see a completely different genre. In three episodes, the documentary-like print tells the story of a lawsuit against television maker Bart De Pauw, and the craziness that can arise around it in contemporary society - on a multitude of sides in society.

Recently, Henrard again starred in a comedy series. Not a complete comedy, but a sketch program: Dansaertvlingen, after the Instagram account of the same name. It puts the contemporary hipster, millennial and smooth businessmen all to shit. It does so with visible pleasure, although the viewer seems less involved...
