Her career started in Passions. The American soap ran for ten years - a minuscule short time compared to some soap monuments - for a total of more than 1,700 episodes. Hennig only appears in one episode, but that marks her debut on the small screen.
She then switches to the famous Days of Our Lives. Hennig has played the role of Stephanie Johnson for more than ten years and has been broadcast in viewers' homes for more than 450 episodes. She was last seen in the soap in 2017, also because she has now committed herself to quite a number of other projects. So that cult status of the original soap opera is something that Hennig passes up.
The first series in the series of other projects is The Secret Circle. The CW series does not run very long, but the fantasy horror story quickly has a loyal fan base. Hennig plays Diana Maede, one of the three leaders of the secret 'circle' of witches, to which main character Cassie Blake eventually becomes a member. Guest appearances in Friend Me and Justified follow.
Hennig can be seen for a while in the series Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous. This comedy is about the young Zach Stone, who quits his studies with one goal: to become famous without any real talent - you wouldn't expect it with a title like that.
After guest appearances in Blue Bloods and Friends with Better Lives, several film roles followed. Most memorable, however, is her next role in a series, namely the immensely popular Teen Wolf. The series manages to draw a large group of young people into the world of werewolves in Beacon Hills.
Liberty Crossing, a comedy about a brilliant analyst who has to prevent a terrorist attack, follows. Nevertheless, acting takes a back seat. Hennig plays fewer roles, and the roles she plays are often smaller in size. We will see Hennig again in Dollface, Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet and The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window - a comedy crime miniseries with Kristen Bell.
In 2023 there is her portrayal of her role of Malia Tate in the Teen Wolf film, which was very poorly received. Finally, the series Obliterated will soon follow on Netflix. In this mix of The Hangover and any serious cop show, a Special Forces team thwarts a deadly threat in Las Vegas. To celebrate, they're going all out - in every conceivable area. When it turns out that the bomb they defused is a fake, they have to get to work drunk.
