Series of the Year 2023 - Best Animated Series

This column supports the Series of the Year election 2023 and discusses the category animation. You can vote for your favorite series in this genre and others, between Tuesday January 2nd and Sunday February 4th.
It's here! It's time again for the Series of the Year elections! Just like in previous years, I had the opportunity to present the category of animated series. And, of course, I'm happy to do so because in 2023, we've had some fantastic animated series and anime. Look at Attack on Titan or Blue Eye Samurai for example.

It's no surprise that these two series are on the list, right? The choice was certainly difficult. This year, there were so many spectacular animations and anime on streaming services that I got a bit lost. Fortunately, with the help of readers and other writers from MySeries, I was able to compile a worthy list of nominees.

Below, in alphabetical order, are the top ten nominees for the best animated series of 2023:

Archer

Archer
Archer is back and stronger than ever in its fourteenth and final season! The animated comedy maintains its relevance and humor through its unique blend of espionage, satire, and eccentric characters. Its unique animation style, creative storylines, and sharp humor have made it a lasting favorite, rightfully earning its place among the nominees for the animated series of the year 2023.

Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan is once again nominated as the best animated series of the year. Not surprising when you consider that after ten years, this incredible anime has finally concluded. The last two parts were released this year as a special edition, bringing the 2013 anime to a close. Although some may not be entirely satisfied with the ending, this anime stands above all others with a rating of 9.1. In other words, the anime produced by MAPPA Studios deserves a spot in the top ten.

Blue Eye Samurai

Blue Eye Samurai
This brand-new Netflix series has quickly taken over the rankings. You could call it a breath of fresh air in the animation landscape, especially with its beautiful combination of Eastern and Western elements. Blue Eye Samurai visually presents a gripping and captivating story of revenge, adventure, and self-discovery. Not surprising considering the writers' work on projects like Logan and Blade Runner 2049. A top nomination for this list.

The cute and comedic series, lasting about 30 minutes, revolves around everyone's favorite tree character from Guardians of the Galaxy. We follow Groot on his short adventures, from finding a quirky egg to saving the universe. I Am Groot, despite its lack of connection to the MCU, remains an iconic character experiencing a unique and humorous adventure for everyone to enjoy.
