Possible shorter seasons for Dick Wolfe series

Due to the coronavirus production on all Dick Wolfe series, including Law & Order: SVU, has been halted. Some of the current seasons may be shorter because of it.
NBCUniversal has halted all productions from producer Dick Wolfe (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) due to the coronavirus. Allegedly, a lot of these series will not continue their production till fall. For as long as it is possible, episodes of these series will be released.

Next to Law & Order: SVU, Dick Wolfe also produces Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD and FBI. Production on all the series as mentioned earlier has been halted. Because of that, some seasons of several series may be shorter than initially planned. This will affect the storyline, but that specific storyline will then be continued into the next season. It is intended that most seasons will be finished.

“The safety and health of our cast, crew and employees is our top priority.,” NBCUniversal said in a statement released Thursday night as shared via Deadline’s report. “Where possible, we are pausing production for two weeks as a precautionary measure, following which we will reassess and determine an appropriate start date. In some cases, we are accelerating plans to wrap up physical production.”
